The Best Tool for HVAC Out of Home Advertising Is…

Your trucks! I know you probably already have your company’s name, logo, and phone number on your trucks, but you can and should do more than smack 18″ x 24″ magnets on the doors. Your trucks act like moving billboards throughout the region, advertising and promoting your business. Just like creating a low-budget TV commercial, using inferior graphics on your trucks and vans portrays your business as sub-par. Investing in high-quality, large scale vehicle wraps will pay off over and over and will help you make use of this free advertising space to garner new business. Take a look below at a few companies that are getting vehicle wraps right, and in my eyes, why it’s working.
Use a consistent design. If you are a larger company with a fleet of vehicles in all shapes and sizes, make sure you create a single design that can be used across all of your trucks. A big part of advertising is repetition – you want people to see your brand in multiple places at multiple times to create brand awareness. Take a look at the Portuguese company Urbanos below and how they have played a simple, bold rendition of their logo across multiple sized trucks.
Create a Character. Mr. Rooter Plumbing has created a custom character to represent their business. In addition to a fun mascot, they have made good use of bright, bold colors to catch the eyes of people driving by.
Make the logo bigger. This is not something I normally advocate for! But on a vehicle wrap, enlarging your logo and making it a central element to your design can help boost recall when potential customers go searching for you later.
Whatever design you create for your HVAC company, make sure it’s memorable, but not too busy. Remember, you want potential customers to see one of your trucks, remember your name, and know they best way to contact you. Don’t clutter the design with too many elements so people don’t know what to read first – if anything at all.
